Privacy Policy
The short version: our apps keep your data on your device. We don't have accounts, we don't run servers that receive your data, and we don't use analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind. We never sell or share your data.
What the app stores
Rally Clock saves the information you enter — event setup, car numbers, times, comments, and your settings — in the app's private storage on your device. It stays there until you delete it or uninstall the app.
Location
Rally Clock uses your device's location only for these features:
- Satellite time check (Android only) — one reading, used only for its time. The app takes one when it starts, if you have already allowed location, and whenever you tap for it.
- Trip meters — while a trip meter is running, the app reads your location to measure distance, including with the screen locked. On Android a notification shows whenever this is happening, and on iPhone and iPad the location indicator does. It stops when you stop the trip meter.
Location is processed on your device. Your position is never stored, never included in a log, and never sent to us or to anyone else.
When data leaves your device
Only when you act, and only to places you choose:
- Sharing or handing over a log — to another device running Rally Clock on the same local network, or through your phone's share menu (email, messaging, files, and so on). A log includes your name and phone number if you entered them in Setup. Hand-overs go directly between devices on the local network and are not encrypted, so use a network you trust. Once shared, that copy is handled by the recipient and the app you shared it with.
- Loading an event setup from another device on your local network.
- Finding other devices — while a device is sharing its clock, collecting logs, or handing out a setup, it announces its control name and the event name on the local network so other devices can find it.
- Setting the clock — the app asks a public internet time server (by default
pool.ntp.org, changeable in Settings) for the current time. Like any internet request, this reveals your device's IP address to that server. No other data is sent.
What we collect
Nothing. NitroCat Innovations, LLC does not receive, collect, or store any personal information from our apps. The only personal information that leaves your device is what you send yourself, such as your name and phone number in a log you hand over to event staff. If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply.
Permissions
Location, local network access, and notifications are requested only when a feature needs them, and you can revoke them at any time in your device settings. The rest of the app keeps working without them.
Deleting your data
Because your data lives only on your device, you control it completely: delete logs within the app, clear the app's data in your device settings, or uninstall the app. There is no account to close.
Children
Our apps are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above. If a future version of an app collects data in a new way, this policy will say so before that version is released.
